As RBI released notification regarding the change in the pattern of RBI Assistant exam, many students are panicked. The preliminary exam will play a game-changing role this time because, in the end, it will all come down to the speed of the candidate, unlike the main examination where we can attempt GA and Computer in around 15 to 20 minutes and utilise the rest of the time for the rest of the sections.

For official notification & online application details & eligibility visit http://www.rbi.org.in

Following is the pattern for Prelims :

Prelims will be qualifying in nature but due to less number of vacancies and the level of the examination, cut-off will be rocket high. You have to aim for 85+, this might seem impossible to most of you as for how to score 85+ in just 60 minutes,I am going to justify this also.

RBI Assistant vacancies come state wise with approx 30 vacancies average and RBI will select candidates around 20 times the number of vacancies for the main exam.

Due to low vacancies and the inclusion of prelims cut-off will go high as there will be many candidates who are preparing for bank exams and have a good grip in these 3 sections.

Now coming to section wise strategy-This exam will be at par with IBPS clerk exam.

This section will consist of an easy passage and questions will be asked directly from it.

Cloze test will consist of approx 10 marks,so you should focus on this.

Error spotting will be easy,so just practice and understand all the basics grammar rules.

Para jumble might be there but that too will be easy.

Fill in the blanks might be there too.

Aim for 22+ in this section. If you are good in English then try to score 25+

REASONING : There will be no high-level puzzles unlike we are seeing this year in various examinations.

Seating arrangement will be there.

Direction Test

Coding Decoding

Aim for 30+ in this section

This section is numerical ability, not quants , some people get confused in the two of them.

10 questions will be of simplification only, so you must practice, increase your accuracy and decrease your time per question.

5 questions on number series.

1 or 2 DI will be there, the level will be easy.

Rest the questions will be from miscellaneous topics but they will be like put the value, get the answer, so you must know all the basic concepts.

Aim for 30+ in this section.

Now coming to how to manage time during the examination.

English- 15 minutes max.

Reasoning-22 minutes

Numerical Ability-23 minutes

I will share mains strategy soon depending on the number of candidates who needs it.

All the best. 🙂
